MIKE TINDALL'S CONTROVERSIAL COMMENT
In promotions for his new book being published this month, it’s been revealed that Mike Tindall, King Charles' neice's husband, seemingly calls out Meghan Markle in his discussion of what it was like to join the most famous royal family in the world. He wrote that joining the royal family was actually easy, penning “'Believe it or not, marrying into the Royal family was pretty easy for me. They were always nice to me, and I was always nice to them. Simple really.'”
Although his wife Zara isn’t in the spotlight the same way as Meghan Markle, he certainly lays out a helpful guideline for joining the famous family in the spotlight. Using this framework lets consider; was Meghan being nice to the royal family when she announced her pregnancy at Princess Eugenie’s wedding? Or when she yelled at her niece about the bridesmaids dress or made her sister in law cry? Or was it when Meghan called her postpartum sister in-law hormonal? All these are well documented situations. This comment from Mike seems like a slight reference to the way that Meghan has engaged with the Windsors, and after all it's now Mike Tindall that has filled the vacancy of brotherhood in Prince Williams life.
Check out his new book, The Good, The Bad and The Rugby- Unleashed, set for release on October 24th.
PRINCESS CATHERINE RETURNS TO PUBLIC ENGAGEMENTS

It seems that The Princess of Wales is back in business with the return to public duties in a surprise appearance alongside Prince William this week at an event to honor the victims of the vicious knife attack in Southport earlier this year. Some reports have said that this was a last minute decision to come along, but Buckingham Palace refuted these claims saying this was part of the plan. Catherine is humble as always and it's admirable that she chose this opportunity to return to public engagements. Dressed to perfection for autumn with a long double breasted chocolate brown coat jacket, (previously seen on her tour of Boston in 2022) a style that she has worn over the last few winters. It seems she and William decided to match with complimentary autumnal hues.
Much has been speculated about her not wearing her famous sapphire engagement ring, and instead wearing a sapphire eternity band that she first wore publicly in her August video announcing her return to duties. It's likely that she lost significant weight due to her cancer and treatments and that the ring doesn’t fit properly right now.
PRINCESS CATHERINE ON MOM DUTY
Catherine was also spotted this week at Prince Louis’ football match as just one of the moms standing by in support. In an effort to honor her privacy and in accordance with British Paparazzi rules, we will not be publishing those images here.
However, her outfit was reminiscent of Kiera Knightly in Love Actually as she donned a very british newsboy hat with a down to earth brown ensemble and a tote bag. Very much a mom look in Autumn! It's encouraging to see her back to being out and about after a year of harrowing health issues.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, EUGENIE AND JACK!

Speaking of styles from movies, we had another highlight this week as Princess Eugenie celebrated her 6th anniversary with husband Jack Brooksbank. She shared a few new peaks into that special day and reminded us of that beautiful reception dress she wore. The blush silk dress is stunning and what I forgot is that it is inspired by Grace Kelly’s dress in to Catch a thief! Thats the intro clip for The Swish, for those of you that are asking… one of my favorite movies and an ultimate classic. How pretty is this dress! She added sleeves to the Grace Kelly design and it’s gorgeous.
THE PROFESSIONAL DIVORCE CONTINUES

Meghan and Harry are back to living their separate professional lives as Meghan visited Girls Inc. to reinforce a new investment between the Archwell Foundation, Oprah Winfrey and Pivotal Ventures that is supporting a new partnership with Girls Inc. and #HalfTheStory, who are on the mission to help girls engage with the digital landscape and foster healthier relationships with technology. This is an important initiative giving technology a defined place and helping people with tech addictions and misuse. This topic is clearly a real passion for Harry and Meghan as the majority of their appearances recently have exclusively been about this topic, on the heels of their Parents Network Initiative launched in August.
As revealed in a Vanity Fair article this week, Meghan shared with the girls at this roundtable that she is the, “most bullied person in the world”. Both Harry and Meghan have expressed their deep concern for online bullying and their own children's upbringing, but the issue of Meghan's online harassment contributes heavily to her concern with this issue. Meghan is staunchly pro-censorship online in the name of her own struggles, which many see as an extension of her victimhood narrative.
HARRY'S SOLO DISCUSSION

Prince Harry also made a solo appearance this week alongside author Jonathan Haidt for a discussion of his book, The Anxious Generation. This book is eye opening to the problems Generation Z and A have faced with technology and navigating life in a digital age. Harry made some helpful contributions to this conversation including some chilling points about how technology is “stealing peoples childhood”.
Some critics have positioned this interview as another way for Harry to get back at the media, as he's been criticized to do, but of all the conversations he has had recently about this issue, this one was applicable, well researched and true. If he sticks to conversations like this, a similar approach he took as a Senior working member of Royal Family, and leaving out personal issues-- by fighting for a solution, while still also recognizing the role of the parent in stopping these issues in their home-- he could be back on a better back with the public.
By leaving his wife out of his efforts he continues to forge a positive reputation on his own. While he continues to make positive PR moves, she continues to drudge up issues of how people don’t like her and that she is the “worlds most bullied person in the world”. This isn's the first time she's made this statement either-- it's something that she stated back in 2019, declaring the “Trolling was almost unsurvivable”. These statements surface reports of her as the bully that have circulated again, of course with two very diametrically opposed reports painting her as either the perpetrator or the victim.
MEGHAN'S BODYGUARD COMES TO HER DEFENSE

On the heels of the Hollywood Reporter's investigative article in September that rocked the Sussex world, her former body guard Steve Davies has also gone on record sharing that Meghan was a joy to work with and the reports he has seen of her painted as a “dictator in heels” is untrue. He even went so far as to say that he felt sorry for her after what she has experienced. “I would work with her again, not a problem at all. She was a good person to work for, and she still is a good person.” It seems to be a subjective experience at this point.
Do you think we will see the Sussex’s back together again soon? Or will this public professional divorce continue on? We will be sharing more on next week's Swish Royal Review.
